I have 10 minutes so thought I would try and finally post about Troy and Weston's birth let's see how far I get:) We went into the hospital on February 23rd for a scheduled C-section due to my health and Baby B (AKA Weston) being breech the doctor felt this was the safest way for everyone.
Troy Justin was born first at 9:40 am and weighed 7 lbs 2 oz. 19" long Weston followed shortly after at 9:41 am and weighed 6 lbs 13 oz. The realization dawned on me that I really had 2 babies when I heard two different cries go back and forth and then seeing their sweet little faces for the first time as the nurse held up Troy I kissed his little chubby cheeks. The nurse brought over Weston and he opened up his eyes and looked at me for the first time I was so happy. They put me in recovery and I was feeling really light headed and sleepy. I could hear my nurse in the background tell someone to call my doctor I was losing too much blood. They were able to get it under control but my blood count kept going down for a couple days after that and the doctor kept mentioning giving me a blood transfusion. It slowly is going up but it certainly hasn't helped with having much energy when I already am very sleep deprived. They brought Troy right in as soon as they knew I was stable because he was so hungry and we tried nursing out for the first time. I didn't get to see Weston until later that afternoon. Weston had swallowed fluid during delivery and was retracting fluid in his lungs. After a chest X-Ray and observing him they decided that he was well enough to room in with us.
Late Thursday night the 25th my nurse came to weigh and get the babies vitals. She was gone with them for a couple hours and I dozed off when I woke back up I wondered what was taking so long a few minutes later the nurse and some NICU staff came in to tell me Weston was being admitted to the NICU. I was so worried and sad Ty was sound asleep so I just laid there and prayed he would be okay. My doctor let me spend an extra day in the hospital with hopes that Weston would be ready to come home with us. Weston ended up having to stay 3 days after Troy and I were discharged. It was really heartbreaking to leave him at the hospital and to try and divide my time between visiting Weston and taking care of Troy at home. Weston came home on March 2nd and it's been wonderful to have them both home, crazy at times but they are both so fun to watch and see their little personalities emerge.
